Terms of Service
The agreement between you and JestBot for creating an account and using the platform to build, embed, and operate chat bots.
Last updated: August 19, 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating a JestBot account, embedding a JestBot widget, or otherwise using the platform, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy, which are incorporated into this agreement by reference. If you’re creating an account on behalf of an organization, you’re confirming you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.
2. Your account
You need an account to create bots, and you’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account, including actions taken by any agent you add to your teams. Sign up is available with an email/password or with Google sign-in via Firebase Authentication. You must provide accurate account information and keep your email address current, since it’s how we deliver verification codes, billing receipts, and security notices.
3. Using JestBot
You may use JestBot to build and operate chat bots for lawful purposes only. You’re responsible for the bots you create, the content you feed into their knowledge bases, and how they’re configured and embedded. Specific rules on prohibited content and conduct — including domain allowlisting, API key handling, and lead-capture use — are set out in full in our Acceptable Use Policy, which applies to every account and every embedded widget.
4. Your content
Documents, pasted text, and URLs you add to a bot’s knowledge base remain yours. JestBot processes that content — chunking it, generating vector embeddings, and retrieving relevant chunks at query time — solely to power your own bot’s responses. We don’t use your content to train shared or third-party models. You’re responsible for having the rights to any content you upload or link, consistent with the prohibited-content rules in our Acceptable Use Policy.
Deleting a document or a bot removes its stored content and vector embeddings from the retrieval index; deleting your account cascades to remove your bots, documents, embeddings, conversation history, and captured leads, as described in our Security page.
5. Bring-your-own-key providers
JestBot’s default model is a self-hosted Ollama-backed model. If you configure your own OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Groq, or Mistral key on a bot, requests made with that key are sent directly to that provider and are subject to that provider’s own terms, acceptable use policy, and billing — entirely separate from your JestBot subscription. JestBot encrypts BYOK keys at rest (AES-256-GCM) and decrypts them only in memory, per request, as described on our Security page, but we don’t control or guarantee the output, availability, or pricing of any third-party model provider.
6. Agents & teams
Account holders can add human agents to a team for the handover layer. Agents log in through a separate agent panel, scoped to the handover queue, their assigned conversations, and canned responses — they cannot access billing, API keys, or bots they haven’t been assigned to. The account holder who adds an agent is responsible for that agent’s conduct while using JestBot, consistent with the human-agent conduct rules in our Acceptable Use Policy.
7. Billing & plans
JestBot is offered on Free, Starter, and Pro tiers. Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly, quarterly, or yearly, depending on what you select) via Razorpay, in INR or, once enabled on your account, USD, and renew automatically until cancelled. Upgrading takes effect immediately, with the unused portion of your current cycle credited toward the upgrade; downgrading or cancelling takes effect at the end of the cycle you’ve already paid for. Full detail on cancellation timing, refund eligibility, and payment-failure handling is in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
8. Intellectual property
JestBot and its logo, product name, and platform code are the property of JestBot and its licensors. These terms don’t grant you any rights to JestBot’s trademarks, branding, or underlying software beyond what’s needed to use the platform as intended. You retain all rights to the content you upload, as described in Section 4.
9. Disclaimers
JestBot is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Responses generated by a bot are AI-generated and grounded in retrieval from your own content, but are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or current — see our AI Output Disclaimer for a full explanation of how retrieval grounding works and where it can still fall short. Uptime targets and service credits for Pro-plan customers are described separately in our SLA & Uptime Commitment.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, JestBot is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including damages resulting from bot output shown to your visitors, downtime, or a third-party BYOK provider’s own outage or policy enforcement. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account, which permanently removes your bots, documents, and conversation history. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy, following the enforcement process described there. Refund treatment for a for-cause termination is covered in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. We’ll update the date at the top of this page when we do, and where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we’ll notify active account holders by email in advance of it taking effect.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent via the contact page.
